This painting was purchased directly from the artist by renowned Canadian art curator and author Doris Shadbolt, wife of Jack Shadbolt, one of Canada's foremost painters. The painting was loaned for incorporation in Hodnett's major solo exhibition in Vancouver, Canada in November 2002.

Doris Shadbolt died while on vacation in Mexico in December 2003 and bequeathed the painting to her long-time friend and art collector Ronald MacDonald.  The painting now hangs in the MacDonald Collection in Toronto.
